Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe is an artist, composer, and curator working primarily with voice and modular synthesizer in the realm of spontaneous music.
The marriage of synthesis and voice is central to his practice — analog modular systems echo the organic nature of vocal expression, generating a heightened physicality and trancelike states both in performance and on record. Lowe has also developed an audiovisual practice spanning live performance, installation, and an increasing focus on film composition. Collaborators include Ben Russell, Ben Rivers, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Tarek Atoui, Philippe Parreno, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Ariel Kalma, and Susie Ibarra, among many others.
